Association for Computing Machinery - UP Diliman Student Chapter, Inc.

The Association for Computing Machinery - UP Diliman Student Chapter, Inc. (UP ACM) is the first student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery in the Philippines.

The ACM Organization is the largest scientific and educational computing society in the world, strengthening the profession's collective voice by encouraging strong leadership and recognizing technical excellence.

UP ACM was chartered in 2003 by several founding members from the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Mission and Vision

The members of the chapter are united under an advocacy to build communities and develop the future through the cultivation of a shared interest in computing. It is the goal of the organization to open avenues and introduce opportunities for learning about computer science and other related fields. The merger of programming knowledge and humanitarian work is the means by which UP ACM achieves its goal of engineering sustainable development for areas within its sphere of influence and beyond.

Special Interest Groups

UP ACM prides itself for enriching the members’ learning experiences through collaborative work. The spirit of such camaraderie within the academe is embodied by Special Interest Groups (SIGS). These groups were established in order to encourage dialogue and explore the more esoteric domains of computing.
